This Big and Little have been matched for four years! They have developed a wonderful friendship over that time. Matt says of the match, “Blake, my little, is a great kid who didn’t have a male role model to look up to or to do things with going into his teenage years. We have a strong bond and consider each other real lifelong brothers. I am very fortunate to be a part of something so rewarding.”
During their four years as a match, they have participated in a number of fun activities, including attending the Indy 500, repelling, caving, fishing on Lake Taneycomo, attending Cardinal’s baseball games and more.
Check out these great pictures Matt recently shared with us…

Big Brothers Big Sisters has a unique school based mentoring program in place with the Hollister School District. The program is in it’s second year. Once a week students in 9th, 10th, and 11th grades at Hollister High School serve as mentors to their junior high aged peers in grades 6-8. This program is designed to build one to one relationships and reinforce character education traits.
Recently our school mentoring coordinator, Mary Pierce put together an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. As you can see from the pictures, they had a great time!
